Are your products genuine VELCRO® Brand?

Yes. Hook, Loop and Tapes is a UK authorised VELCRO® Brand supplier. All our hook and loop products are genuine VELCRO® Brand — not generic hook and loop. This means consistent quality, reliable performance and the trusted VELCRO® Brand name on your products.

What is the difference between hook and loop?

Hook is the rough, scratchy side with tiny plastic hooks. Loop is the soft, fluffy side with small loops. When pressed together they fasten securely. When pulled apart they release cleanly and can be reused thousands of times.

What is PS14 adhesive?

PS14 is VELCRO® Brand's rubber-based self-adhesive. It bonds to most clean, smooth indoor surfaces including metal, glass, painted wood, rigid plastic and card. It reaches full strength after 24 hours and is designed for indoor use. It is not suitable for PVC, vinyl or soft plasticiser-containing materials.

What is the difference between PS14 and heavy duty ULTRA-MATE® adhesive?

PS14 is our standard indoor self-adhesive, suitable for most applications. ULTRA-MATE® uses a moulded plastic hook that delivers 50% more holding power than standard VELCRO® tape, making it suitable for heavier loads and semi-permanent fixings.

What sizes do you offer?

We offer self-adhesive tape from 10mm to 150mm wide, and kiss-cut pads and discs from 10mm up to 145mm. If you need a size not listed on our website, contact us — we cut to your exact specification.

Custom Cut Products

What is kiss-cutting?

Kiss-cutting is a precision cutting process where the VELCRO® material is cut through to the adhesive backing without cutting through the backing paper. This allows individual pads or shapes to be peeled off cleanly and quickly — ideal for production line application.

Can you cut to custom sizes?

Yes. We cut genuine VELCRO® Brand material to custom sizes up to 145mm. Round discs, square pads, strips and bespoke shapes are all available. Contact us with your specification.

Do you charge tooling fees for custom sizes?

No. Unlike VELCRO® Brand direct and most specialist converters, we charge no tooling fees for custom sizes. This makes us the ideal supplier for businesses needing bespoke sizes without large minimum orders or setup costs.

Is there a minimum order?

No minimum order. We supply small sample quantities, production runs and bulk orders. Whether you need 10 pads or 100,000, we can fulfil your order.

Why do your square pads have rounded corners?

Rounded corners reduce stress at the edges of the pad, which helps prevent peeling and edge lifting compared with standard square-cut pads. This keeps your application looking professional for longer.

Why do your strips have rounded ends?

Rounded ends prevent the strip from lifting at the tips, which is the most common point of failure on straight-cut strips. Our rounded ends help the fastening stay flat and secure for longer.

Are your sew-on products machine washable?

Yes. Our VELCRO® Brand sew-on tape is machine washable. Always fasten the hook and loop together before washing to prevent lint accumulation on the loop side.
